New album OUT NOW!

Melbourne music stalwart Daryl Roberts, sometimes member of iconic Australian band Spectrum, otherwise band leader of the fabulous roots rock band Hey Gringo, has just released that band’s 8th album’ Keep On Moving’. Australian Musician editor Greg Phillips sat down with Daryl Roberts over a cup of zoom to chat about the creation of Hey Gringo’s new album.

"Keep On Moving is an album of heart, soul passion and really cool grooves. Embrace it and you'll receive lots in return. Hey Gringo are the absolute business. - Stuart Coupe - (Musicologist, journalist, author, band manager, music label founder)

“Melbourne combo Daryl Roberts and Hey Gringo have been treading the boards for close to 25 years. Keep on Moving is their eighth album. Keyboardist-singer-songwriter Roberts is still front and centre, and with Nicky Bomba on drums and the addition of ace guitarist Charlie Bedford, they’re funkier than ever. If you like your New Orleans influenced R&B deep and swampy, spiced with rock’n’soul and a side step into Latin grooves yet shot through with gritty Aussie pub vibes, then Keep on Moving is where it’s at, baby”. - Ian McFarlane - (Musicologist, music journalist, Author “Australian Encylopedia Rock & Pop)

"Daryl Roberts has a style of his own without question and that's why his fans love him. His latest album from Hey Gringo 'Keep Moving On' is once again stylish and professional" - Irene Barrett (Drivin’ Home With The Blues Cairns FM 89.1)

“Fabulous album full of energy, passion and soul with awesome groove” - Barry Maxwell (Blues On The Hill, 99.3FM / Blues Music Victoria / Hume Blues Club)

"Featuring the cream of Melbourne’s roots rock scene, Hey Gringo’s new album ‘Keep on Moving’ utilises brash, brassy, rollicking rhythms, to create a bunch of upbeat, feel-good, groove-laden, tunes. In short, it’s a bucket full of fun" - Greg Phillips (Australian Musician Magazine)

Keep on moving does just that……whether your grooving on the dancefloor or just tapping ya foot on a car trip…..great collection of tunes… all killers… no fillers” - Tony Jaggers (‘mojos & jellyrolls’ 2EARFM)

"It's always a joy to get new music from Daryl Roberts AKA Hey Gringo and his 8th release, "Keep on Moving" firmly establishes the band as a leader in the blues and roots genre. Featuring the engineering and musicianship of Jeff Lang and a band of blue chip musicians including Kerri Simpson, Charlie Bedford Brenden Mason and Nicky Bomba, this 13 track album doesn't have a bad song in the collection. Grab a copy of keep on Moving today and turn it up! (Frank Davidson presenter a Different Shade of Blue 3WAY FM Warrnambool)
